Beginners Cooking Class and Kitchen Confidence

If you’re looking to build your kitchen confidence and cook delicious meals from scratch, this hands-on class is the perfect place to begin. Whether you’re brand new to cooking or just looking to strengthen your foundations, you’ll leave feeling more capable and inspired in your own kitchen.

We’ll guide you through essential techniques and everyday recipes, helping you create wholesome meals with simple ingredients and good flavour. You’ll build skills and confidence in a relaxed and supportive environment — and enjoy a beautiful shared meal at the end of class.

We keep this class intentionally small — capped at just 8 guests — so you receive personal guidance, hands-on practice, and the space to ask questions along the way. This intimate format is reflected in the class price and is designed to help you get the most from the experience.


What You’ll Learn

You’ll gain practical skills and cook a range of dishes, with a focus on real-world cooking that you can easily replicate at home. Here’s just a taste of what we’ll cover:

  • Mastering the art of a fluffy, golden omelette

  • Steaming fish to preserve its delicate flavour

  • Preparing a fast and flavour-packed midweek stir fry

  • Cooking rice to perfection

  • Nailing a pan-seared steak indoors

  • Making a simple, delicious Tomato Napoli sauce

  • Using fresh herbs to bring life to your meals

  • Basic knife skills — including how to dice an onion and carrots properly

Plus, you’ll receive a bonus online knife skills class after attending, so you can continue learning at your own pace.

Before you leave, we’ll also help you shape 2–3 easy dinners using what you’ve just learned — so you can confidently cook again in the week ahead. It’s all about turning new skills into everyday wins.


Class Details

  • This class runs for 2.5–3 hours and includes the enjoyment of all the dishes you prepare.

  • Location: Sandringham
    The exact address will be emailed to you on the Monday before your class.

  • Time & Duration: Beginners classes commence at either 5 pm or 6 pm (you select the time via the dropdown selection when choosing the class date). The duration is 2.5 hours

  • Weekend classes (when available): 11 am – 1.30 pm

While we do our best to accommodate dietary needs in other classes, this particular class has a set menu and cannot be adapted for vegetarian diets.
