Cooking Class FAQ’s

All cooking class bookings can be made, with ease, via our website. Payment is due when booking is made. In the unlikely event that you encounter some difficulty when booking your place, please don’t hesitate to call or contact us your booking request and we will gladly assist you.

PayPal, Cash, Cheque, Credit card (excluding Diners) are all accepted.Please be aware that classes and gift vouchers are non-refundable.

CANCELLATION & TRANSFER POLICY – BY GUEST

Please be aware that cooking classes and gift vouchers are non-refundable.

The date of cancellation is the date that Relish Mama receives written notice of the cancellation from the customer.

Cancellations or rescheduling requests received more than 14+ days of your booked class are entitled to reschedule into another class with no cost to the customer. Refunds are not provided.

Cancellations or rescheduling requests made between 14 days & 7 days less of class date incur a 30% charge to change class dates. Please appreciate the impact these changes have on small businesses and the difficulty of on-selling last-minute places. Refunds are not provided.

If a guest wishes to cancel or reschedule within 7 days of the class date, your booking will be deemed forfeit and no refund or credit offered.

We, unfortunately, cannot accept responsibility for changes in people’s work commitments, itineraries or for sickness, including COVID-related illnesses.

Want to send someone in your place? No problem. We will happily welcome them. We will require the full name and contact details of the person taking your place.

No refund or reschedule will take effect (1) if you fail to arrive to the class (in person or online) at the reserved time, (2) if you voluntarily leave your class (in person or online) after it has commenced, (3) if you need to leave the event for reasons of bereavement, injury or illness.  Travel insurance and medical insurance are recommended for these rare instances.

If you cancel a class that has been booked through the redemption of a gift voucher, the same terms and conditions will apply.

COVID cancellation and transfer policy: For peace of mind when booking, if your future class booking is impacted by government (State and/or Federal) regulations and restrictions on travel; in this case only, a new date will be provided and your booking will be moved across. A credit can also be issued. If you would prefer to use your cooking classes credit for an online cooking class, this option is also available.

The above clause does not refer to COVID-related illness. We, unfortunately, cannot accept responsibility for COVID-related illnesses should you contract it.

CANCELLATION & TRANSFER POLICY – BY RELISH MAMA

A minimum number of participants is required to run a scheduled class. In the event that minimum numbers are not reached or a class needs to be rescheduled due to illness and other matters affecting Relish Mama, Relish Mama reserves the right to reschedule a class. A future class date or credit will always be provided. In the event that the class must be rescheduled, participants will be notified as soon as possible and no later than 48 hours before the class.

PRIVATE & CORPORATE GROUP BOOKINGS

We have a minimum charge of 12 guests for an exclusive book-out of our venue and classes for both Corporate and Private bookings. Please email us for pricing and packages available. We would love to welcome you. 

A 50% deposit of the event cost is required to secure your event date and booking. The final balance is due strictly 7 days prior to the event date. 

Dietary restrictions and requirements of your group must be received 14 days prior to your event. If your event is booked within the 14-day period, we ask that these dietary restrictions and requirements be sent through when confirming your booking. 

Final guest numbers are to be provided no later than 14 days prior to your event. Final numbers are confirmed at this time as all staff, Chefs, planning & orders are well in place.

Rescheduling requests for Corporate & private bookings:

The date of request is the date that Relish Mama receives a written request from the customer. Rescheduling refers to groups who still wish to enjoy a Relish Mama class, event & experience but have reasons to reschedule to a future new date.

14 days + = Rescheduling requests received more than 14+ days of your booked class are entitled to reschedule to an alternative date that is agreed upon by both parties at no cost to the customer. Deposit refunds are not provided. Deposit will be transferred to the rescheduled date of the booking. 

14-7 days = Rescheduling requests made between 14 days & 7 days prior to class date incur a 30% charge, in addition to the deposit & applied to the rescheduled date of the booking. to change class dates. Deposit refunds are not provided. The remaining 20% deposit will be transferred to the rescheduled date of the booking. 

< 7 days = Full payment will have been received at this point as per our terms & conditions. Rescheduling requests made within 7 days of the class or event date incur a 50% charge of the full payment of the event. Any monies paid to this point are not refundable, but you can certainly reschedule. There is a 50% additional payment to reschedule to a future date & this 50% is payable within 7 days of the agreed new event date.  

Cancellation requests for Corporate & private bookings:

The date of request is the date that Relish Mama receives a written request from the customer. Cancellation refers to groups who have a reason to cancel and do not wish to reschedule to a new date. 

Any cancellation request from when the deposit is due & payable up to 7 days prior to class or event date will incur a 50% charge which means the loss of your deposit. The deposit is non-refundable.  Any outstanding deposits remain payable. 

< 7 days = Full payment will have been received at this point as per our terms & conditions. 

Cancellation within 7 days of class or event date will incur a 100% cancellation charge.

How do I know if my place in the class is confirmed?

All reservations are deemed confirmed once your booking has been submitted & payment is received in full. You will receive an immediate confirmation email post-booking. Reminder emails are also sent out to the person who booked the class.

Can I bring a friend to watch only?

We are sorry but only confirmed guests that have paid for a place in a class may attend. You are most welcome to come with a friend or partner however they will need to register and pay for their place in the class.

What about dietary requirements?

We do our very best to accommodate dietary requirements however it is sometimes not possible with every class and every dish but again, as long as we know in advance, we do our very best to accommodate all attendees. Special dietary notes can be added online in your booking. Alternatively, please contact us with the details.

How do I redeem a gift voucher?

Gift vouchers can be redeemed via our website. Simply enter the gift voucher number in the coupon field of the shopping cart. If you have any difficulty at all, please do not hesitate to contact us for assistance.

It is Relish Mama’s policy to accept Gift Cards on or before the expiry date and not beyond it. The class needs to be taken within the 3 years of the voucher expiration date. Expiration date of 3 years is valid for all gift vouchers sold after the 1st of November 2019.

Can I use my Relish Mama voucher for shipping fees?

Relish Mama gift vouchers are valid for purchasing goods and services only. Shipping costs are not covered when redeeming a Relish Mama gift voucher.

**Please note that gift vouchers cannot be used to purchase further gift vouchers.

Do you provide recipes to take home?

Yes, we most certainly do.

Do I need to bring anything to a class?

No need to bring anything but yourselves. Aprons, pens, ingredients and all utensils are provided. There is no need for you to bring anything at all. We are here to look after you.

All dishes cooked during class are also enjoyed during class and a glass of wine is also included (for guests 18 years and over).

We do not offer take home meal packs. You may discover that we are overly generous with our offerings but this is so that we can support local charities and people in need.

Can I take photos in the class?

You are welcome to bring a camera however video is not permitted. We request that you use discretion and consider other participants’ privacy if taking photographs. Relish Mama reserves the right to revoke this permission at any time during a class, without notice and at it’s sole discretion. We encourage you to please tag #relishmama @relishmama posting to social media.

Relish Mama does take photos and videos during class that may be uploaded to social media for marketing purposes.

Do you teach children’s cooking classes?

Yes, we do and we absolutely love to! Unless otherwise committed, we run select cooking classes for children and teens every school holidays. Please check out our calendar for more details.

Can parents stay in the classroom during the kids and teens cooking classes?

We are very sorry but no is the answer. We welcome parents to walk their children up the stairs into our space & kitchen should you wish to. It may be reassuring for you to see where they will be spending their class time. It is a beautiful & warm space & our kids & teens (and you) will hopefully soon sense that they are in expert hands. We ask that parents and carers then farewell their child and not stay for the commencement of the class. It can make things difficult for other children as well as being disruptive. Our students are quickly busy with their hands and minds which always helps with the separation.

What do I wear to Relish a Mama cooking class?

Please wear appropriate and comfortable clothing with closed shoes. There is nothing too intense with our classes but your safety is our priority.

We sure do and this is a great way to be kept up to date about new classes, special events, recipes and much more. You can sign up for our newsletter on the Relish Mama website home page.
