"North India, lived and shared"
There is India you come to see — the Taj Mahal glowing in the evening light, Jaipur’s magnificent forts and palaces, the lakes of Udaipur — and then there is the India you only discover when you slow down and step a little closer.
This is the North India I want to share with you. We’ll weave through the lanes and spice markets of Old Delhi, eat where locals eat, cook together, wander colourful bazaars and then leave the cities behind for the villages and countryside of Rajasthan. There will be beautiful meals, time spent at Haveli Gokul Niwas, meaningful moments with local families and communities, and those wonderful experiences that simply cannot be manufactured or ticked off a sightseeing list.
And this particular journey gives us something especially memorable — Holi. We’ll spend Holika Dahan and Holi with the family and village at Haveli Gokul Niwas, experiencing the colour, joy and celebration as part of a local community rather than from the sidelines.
Food is at the heart of the journey, but it is also our way in. Into homes, markets, traditions and conversations. Into understanding a place through the people who live there.
This is a very special trip. North India is colourful, generous, surprising and at times wonderfully chaotic. You will come home having seen extraordinary places, certainly — but I think it will be the people, the shared tables and the moments in between that stay with you longest.
Nellie Kerrison, Relish Mama

Wondering if this tour is for you?
I often hear: “I’ve never done a group tour before.” Or the quieter worry: “Will I know anyone? Will we all get along?”
Here’s what I’ve seen time and again. The people who join these journeys are thoughtful, curious, and open. Some come in pairs. Many come solo. But everyone comes for the same reasons: connection, beautiful food, shared experiences, and a little space to breathe again.
These are not packaged tours. They’re small, personal, and built with care. I travel with you, I host the journey, and I’ve watched strangers become friends over meals more times than I can count.
If North India has been on your mind for 2027 and you’re wondering if it’s for you — I hope this helps.
You’d be so welcome. You’d be in the best of company.
Our Itinerary
Day 1: Delhi
Arrive in Delhi and transfer to our hotel, with time to settle in and unwind before coming together in the evening for our welcome dinner.
Day 2: Udaipur
Our first full day begins with a meaningful visit to Gurudwara Bangla Sahib and its extraordinary langar kitchen. We then continue to Gandhi Smriti, India Gate, Kartavya Path and the President’s House before flying to beautiful Udaipur later in the day.
Day 3: Udaipur
A beautiful day discovering Udaipur, from the magnificent City Palace and old city lanes to Jagdish Temple and traditional artists’ workshops. As the day softens, we take a private boat ride on Lake Pichola before sharing a hands-on cooking experience and dinner with a local family.
Day 4: Rural Rajasthan
We leave the city behind and travel into the Rajasthan countryside to Haveli Gokul Niwas. After settling in, we spend time walking through the village and meeting local people before joining the family and community for Holika Dahan.
Day 5: Holi
One of the most special days of our journey. We celebrate Holi with the family and village at Haveli Gokul Niwas, surrounded by colour, music, laughter and celebration. Later, we come together again for a village cooking experience.
Day 6: Jaipur
Today we make our way to Jaipur and begin discovering the Pink City, taking in Hawa Mahal, colourful bazaars and the workshops and artisans woven through the old city.
Day 7: Jaipur
We begin at magnificent Amber Fort before returning to Jaipur’s lively bazaars for time to explore and shop. In the evening, we are welcomed into a local family home for a hands-on cooking class and dinner together.
Day 8: Agra
We travel towards Agra, stopping at remarkable Fatehpur Sikri along the way. After visiting Agra Fort, we experience one of the journey’s most memorable moments — seeing the Taj Mahal in the beautiful late-afternoon light.
Day 9: Agra & Delhi
An early start gives us a quieter view of the Taj Mahal from Mehtab Bagh, across the Yamuna River in the soft morning light. After breakfast, we continue north to Delhi.
Day 10: Delhi
A wonderful final day of exploring begins at Jama Masjid before we travel by cycle-rickshaw through the lanes of Chandni Chowk and into Khari Baoli, Delhi’s famous spice market. The afternoon is free before we gather again for a special farewell dinner.
Day 11: Farewell
After breakfast, we say our goodbyes and make our way to Delhi International Airport, ending our North India adventure with, I suspect, very full hearts and some treasured new friendships.
