- 1 loaf of bread or baguette see notes above
- 125 g unsalted butter softened
- 4 cloves garlic peeled and finely grated or minced
- 2 tablespoons of flat-leaf parsley finely chopped, plus extra to serve
- 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
- Optional:
- ¼ cup freshly grated parmesan cheese mozzarella cheese add more if you prefer
Preheat oven to 200oC.
Line a baking tray with baking paper.
Cut the bread loaf or baguette in half.
Mix together the butter, garlic, salt and parsley. Taste-test it. Are you happy with the amount of garlic? If not, you could add another clove.
Spread the garlic butter evenly over the bread.
Bake for 12-15 minutes until a little golden. If you choose to add cheese, add this in the final 2 minutes of baking.
To make this vegan, swap the butter for vegan butter.
If you would like your garlic bread a little crispier, please cook for an additional 2 minutes.
