Filling
- 500 g mixed berries fresh or frozen
- 1 tablespoon of caster sugar
Topping
- 75 g unsalted butter
- 175 g plain flour
- 120 g muscovado sugar
- ½ teaspoon ground ginger
- ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
To serve
- Suggestions are vanilla ice cream cream, raspberry sorbet or mascarpone.
Put the berries into a shallow, medium-sized pie dish and sprinkle them with the sugar.
Place the topping ingredients in a food processor and pulse to form rough crumbs. Scatter the topping evenly over the berries.
Bake in the centre of a medium oven at 180 C for approximately 30 minutes or until the filling is bubbling and the crumble is golden brown.
Serving suggestions: Cream, Vanilla bean ice cream, raspberry sorbet or mascarpone.
