Ingredients

Filling

  • 500 g mixed berries fresh or frozen
  • 1 tablespoon of caster sugar

Topping

  • 75 g unsalted butter
  • 175 g plain flour
  • 120 g muscovado sugar
  • ½ teaspoon ground ginger
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder

To serve

  • Suggestions are vanilla ice cream cream, raspberry sorbet or mascarpone.

Instructions

  • Put the berries into a shallow, medium-sized pie dish and sprinkle them with the sugar.
  • Place the topping ingredients in a food processor and pulse to form rough crumbs. Scatter the topping evenly over the berries.
  • Bake in the centre of a medium oven at 180 C for approximately 30 minutes or until the filling is bubbling and the crumble is golden brown.
  • Serving suggestions: Cream, Vanilla bean ice cream, raspberry sorbet or mascarpone.
