We run a small selection of kids and teen classes each school holiday period, when available.

  • Kids school holiday cooking classes - Desserts and sweet treats  16th of July 2025 from 9.30 am - 12.30 pm  Learning to cook is one of the most valuable life skills of all — and when it’s a class focused on delicious desserts and sweet treats, the fun and joy reach a whole new level! These Kids School Holiday Cooking Classes - Desserts and Sweet Treats is a hands-on, confidence-building experience, perfect for children aged 6–12. Hosted by Nellie Kerrison, founder of Relish Mama and a passionate cooking teacher for over 16 years, this class gives kids the opportunity to explore baking and dessert-making using simple techniques, real ingredients, and loads of creativity. We’ll be whipping, mixing, rolling, and filling — and of course, tasting! Each recipe has been chosen to delight young cooks while also teaching practical kitchen skills they’ll carry with them for life. Whether your child is brand new to cooking or already loves helping out in the kitchen, this class is designed to be inclusive, fun and enriching. 👩‍🍳 What’s on the menu? This winter holiday class features four feel-good desserts your child will love to make (and eat!): Olive Oil Chocolate Mousse – A silky and rich mousse. This simple but impressive dessert teaches kids about whisking and folding while showcasing how real chocolate flavour shines through quality ingredients. Baby Lemon Shortcakes – Buttery, crumbly, and bright with citrus — these sweet little biscuits are fun to make and even better to sandwich together with a touch of jam or lemon cream. Cinnamon Scrolls – A total crowd-pleaser! These sweet scrolls will fill the kitchen with beautiful aromas while helping kids learn about working with dough and baking from scratch. No-Bake Apple Crumble Cups – A cosy favourite, served in cute individual portions with layers of spiced apple and crunchy oat crumble. No oven required, just clever prep and layering. All recipes are nut-free, made from scratch, and can be easily replicated at home with everyday ingredients. Recipe cards will be emailed to families after the class so the cooking fun can continue long after the holiday ends. 📝 Class Details & Important Notes This is a hands-on cooking class with a maximum of 10 children to ensure plenty of individual attention and a calm, enjoyable environment. The class is designed for children aged 6–12 years. We also offer a separate class with the same menu for tweens and teens later in the day. Students may participate in a one-off/single class or join our other school holiday Kids & teens cooking classes for additional fun & learning. All equipment and ingredients are provided. Children just need to bring a water bottle and they are welcome to bring their own if they wish. The class will run for a 3 hours. We cater to vegetarian diets and mild dietary needs — just let us know in the booking form comments. Parents do not stay with their child for the class. These are drop off style cooking classes.  We’re always happy to answer questions before or after the session. 💬 Why choose a Relish Mama class?
